Kneeboarding at Lake Garda, Italy (summer 2008)

G’day! I’m Michael Wolbert, born in Cabadelo, Brazil on the shortest day of the year: 21st of December,1985. At the age of two weeks I swam across the Atlantic Ocean to stay with my new family in IJsselstein, the Netherlands.

1,5 years ago I moved to Utrecht to live in a student-appartment where I still live at this very moment.

Study
I study Applied Computer Science at the Hogeschool Utrecht. If everything works out okay, I’ll have my Bachelor degree next summer (2009). In short Applied Computer Science mainly focusses on:

• Learning programming languages like: C, C++ (Embedded environment), C#, Java and PHP
• Operating Systems, mainly UNIX
• (Realtime) Software design
• Math, math, math
• Datastructures and algoritms
• Databases
• A little bit of business courses

Work
About a month ago I started working as an intern for Avanade at the Solution Development department. I will be researching and developing in Microsoft’s new modeling framework: Microsoft Oslo. I’ll keep you updated :-)

Things I do and like

• Playing the bass- or acoustic guitar
• Longboarding, snowboarding.. -boarding
• Pizza (sans fromage)
• Coffee
• Beer
